Honey Jam was formed in Canada by Bajan Ebonnie Rowe, who expanded the operation to Barbados. It seeks to nurture the island’s exciting talent and provide a showcase for female artists in particular.
Honey Jam has already helped launch the music careers of many women, including the Grammy winning artist Nelly Furtado.
The all-female showcase is now in its seventh year on Barbados.
It provides educational, mentoring, networking, promotional and performance opportunities for young female artists.
“We want to give them a springboard to move forward in their careers with the hope they will reach the international stage and be great ambassadors for Barbados,” said Ebonnie.
